From figuration to abstraction

Year 4 have been studying Barbara Hepworth, in particular we have looked at how her work developed from figuration to abstraction.  We found a scene from ‘Inside Out’ really useful to explain this concept.  The children then created their own sketches and tried to hone in on the key shapes or elements in an abstract style.  We will use this to design our own sculptures which we will make out of clay before half term.
