  • Peter Burrows Visit

    We were thrilled to welcome POSH — Peterborough United Football Club — to our school for a special assembly! Staff from POSH and Peter joined us to share insights about teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of healthy lifestyles, both on and off the pitch. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with local sporting role models and be inspired by their experiences.

  • Reception - Hammerton Zoo

    On 1st July 2025, Reception visited Hamerton Zoo. They were able to see a wide range of interesting animals and learnt lots of new facts about them. The children also took part in a classroom-led session in which they learnt about nocturnal and diurnal animals. During this time, they even got to meet a snake! After this, they ventured around the zoo to see lots of other exciting animals, including some monkeys, camels and Siberian tigers. The children all had a very exciting day.

  • Year 1 Snettisham Trip

    On Wednesday 25th June 2025, Year 1 went on a trip to Snettisham Park Farm as part of our Topic on 'Food & Farming'. In the morning, we fed the greedy goats and the cute lambs. The children were great shepherds and shepherdesses, pushing the lambs back into their pens. Then, we collected the eggs from the hen hatch and checked their size. We also got the tortoises out of their enclosure and watched them crawl across the grass as we stroked their shells. In the afternoon, we went on a tractor ride to feed the deer.

  • Year 3 - Cambridge Science Centre

  • Year 3 visit to Beth Shalom Reform Synagogue.

    Year 3 received a warm welcome to the synagogue.  We learned how Jewish families hold a Shabbat dinner each week and what happens during the dinner.  We were also able to see the Ark and the Torah which we have been learning about in our RE lessons.  One class member was able to dress up as a high priest and we learned how the dressings on the Torah replicate this.

  • Year 3 - Archaeologist Visit

    We enjoyed a visit from an Ancient Egypt archaeologist.

    We learnt about the skills required when excavations are taking place and how many different professionals are involved - from biologists to town planning.

    We were able to hold a tool from over 3000 years ago.

  • Year 6 - Twin Lakes Trip

    Year 6 Trip to Twin Lakes - A well-deserved celebration!

    On Thursday 12th June, Year 6 enjoyed an exciting and memorable day out at Twin Lakes. After all their hard work and dedication throughout their time at school, the trip was a fantastic way to celebrate everyone's achievements. Year 6 had a brilliant time experiencing a wide range of rides and attractions, and their behaviour was exemplary throughout the day. It was a well-earned reward and a day to remember!

  • Red Nose Day 2025

    Friday 21st March was Red Nose Day and non-uniform day at Heritage Park Primary School. The children enjoyed wearing their red noses and raising funds for Comic Relief.

  • Reception - Ramsey Heights

    Reception class enjoyed their first school trip to Ramsey Heights nature reserve. They experienced a wide range of activities linked to the natural world, including a nature walk, bird watching, bug hunting and den building. The children also enjoyed learning about how acorns grow into oak trees through an interactive story experience. We discovered which animals live at Ramsey Heights through evidence such as animal trails but also through seeing some of the animals, such as the birds.

    We had a lovely first school trip, and luckily the sun was shining for us all day which made for an even better experience!

  • Reading activities in school

    March has been an extremely busy month for reading at Heritage Park Primary School. We started the month by celebrating World Book Day where the children shared their love of reading through lots of fun activities throughout the day, including a picture book scavenger hunt around school.

    For Reception and Key Stage One pupils, we held a Bedtime Story event after school which was extremely well attended by parents and pupils.

    We have also held external workshops called ‘Bringing books to life’ in which each class had the opportunity to learn a dance to support their storytelling.

    Later this month, we will be holding our own Scholastic Book Fair and there is a competition open for children to try and win a book token to spend at the book fair.

  • Year 6 - Bletchley Park

    On Wednesday 12th March, Year 6 visited Bletchley Park and looked at its use during WW2. We learnt about technological advances, the importance of secrets and looked around rooms that were made to look like they would have done during WW2. The children also had a lesson on morse code and code cracking using an enigma machine.
