World Book Day - Thursday 4 March 2021

We had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day this year.

We had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day this year. The children at home and at school all got involved with lots of activities to help celebrate reading, authors and illustrators. We started the day with a whole school virtual assembly in which we listened to a story written and illustrated by Rob Biddulph. The children then took part in guessing who our Masked Readers were, which proved to be very enjoyable for all involved!

During the day, children could choose from different activities to complete, for their World Book Day themed English lesson. There were also a variety of live author sessions being offered throughout the week via Peterborough’s links to the National Literacy Trust and also through the World Book Day website.

The following day, Will Mabbitt led some very special virtual workshops for all of our pupils. The children were able to participate in creating their own narratives and illustrations under the guidance of a published author.

Hopefully our World Book Day celebrations have inspired our pupils to spend their free book token on a book they will enjoy reading.  If you wish to see more photos click here
